Family Member Prime Suspect In ET Girls Death

Smith County Sheriff Larry Smith has confirmed that the body of 10 year old  Kayla Gomez-Orozco of Cherokee County has been found in a well near a property on FM 2493. 24 year old , a family member lives at the residence where Kayla’s body was found. He voluntarily accompanied officials to be questioned in the case and was booked into jail on an immigration hold. The Cherokee and Smith County District Attorneys will work together on filing additional charges. Zavala-Garcia is married to Kayla’s cousin and has a prior conviction for family violence.
