Fannin County Woman Shot – Husband Arrested

A Fannin County woman is hospitalized after she was allegedly shot by her husband over the weekend. Deputies responded after a 9-11 call at a home in Dodd City and found Shannon Piland lying on the floor with a gunshot wound to her head. She was flown to a Dallas hospital where she is listed in critical condition.  Her 51 year old husband, Michael PIland was arrested at the scene for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.  A motive has not been disclosed.
