Authorities evacuated residents of Mt Vernon Tuesday evening around 8:00 after a gas line ruptured. Franklin County’s Emergency Management Coordinator, Josh Daily, said that the residents are allowed to go home now. It occurred between Grady and Andrews Streets. CenterPoint crews made the repairs after a worker on a riding mower compromised the two-inch gas line.
