The south has been inside a heat wave, and there have already been calls for conservation in Texas. A lack of wind power has been a big issue, but experts say solar electricity remains high. Daniel Cohan at Rice University says we do not need to throw taxpayer dollars at solar power. Instead, he says the state needs to invest in transmission lines to get all that power into the grid. There are already projects in the works.
