North Lamar High School senior Colin Hodgkiss has been chosen by the faculty and staff as district’s DAR Good Citizen.
Sponsored by the Joseph Ligon Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the DAR Good Citizen is for students in Lamar County and is one of the most prestigious honors a senior student can receive. Nominations from faculty and staff are based on dependability – includes truthfulness, loyalty, and punctuality; service – includes cooperation, courtesy, and consideration; leadership – includes personality, self-control, and ability to assume responsibility; and patriotism – includes unselfish interest in family, school, community, and nation. Because of the national prestige of DAR, the honor is a valuable asset on college and scholarship applications.
