Lightning Strike Causes Lamar County House Fire

A lightning strike is blamed for a fire that heavily damaged a Lamar County home in the 500 block of Sugar Hill Road. Firefighters from Faught, Blossom, and Reno battled the blaze for about two hours, but there was damage to the floors as well as smoke and water damage when some pipes burst because of the heat. The family of three were alerted to the fire by a smoke detector and made it out of the house without injury.
