Paris1

Distinguished Graduate Awards Presentation: September 16, 2016

The Distinguished Graduate Award is the highest and most prestigious award the Paris Independent School District can bestow on its graduates. This award honors Paris High School and Gibbons High School graduates who are nationally or internationally recognized for their career accomplishments, distinguishing themselves as leaders and as role models.

Former Paris ISD students Dr. Larry “T-Byrd” Gordon (PHS Class of 1967/Posthumous), Thomas S. Moore (PHS Class of 1958), Lewis “Jackrabbit” Smith (Gibbons High School Class of 1941/Posthumous), and Dr. Charles Sterling (PHS Class of 1963) have been named Distinguished Graduate Award winners. The district will display their portraits on the Wall of Honor at Paris High School.

They will be honored at a presentation on Friday, Sept. 16 at 1:30 p.m. in the Commons Area at Paris High School and presented to the PHS student body during the Homecoming pep rally at 2:30 p.m.

Former students, staff, and friends of Paris ISD are encouraged to attend. Community members who wish to attend the 1:30 p.m. presentation should call 903-737-7473 ext. 2328 by Sept. 14 to make reservations.
