Paris Police Report For Tuesday, April 30

On Monday morning at 11:20, a Paris Officer was dispatched to the scene of a Burglary of a Habitat in the 400 block of SW 19th Street. They observed an open window with a cut screen at a guest house. A $30 black in color guitar, along with the surveillance camera and a Google Nest valued at $169, was stolen. The camera showed footage up until midnight when they disconnected it. Police photographed the scene and located a few smudges on the window. 

On Monday afternoon at 1:08, a victim in the 3400 block of Fargo Drive spoke with a Community Service Officer in the Police Department’s lobby and stated that he and his wife have guardianship over their nephew and their tax preparing service notified them that the IRS rejected their return due to their nephew already being claimed. A Felony Fraud Use Possession of Identifying Information Report was taken.

A Paris Officer responded Monday afternoon at 1:42 to the 3800 block of Lamar Avenue to a man with a gun call. Three adults and an infant in a vehicle stated they were driving southbound on 271 N when a white male driving a Hyundai passed them. The driver almost ran them off the road. They exchanged verbal comments through the vehicle’s windows. Reportedly, the driver of the Hyundai yelled at them while waving around a black in color medium to large size pistol with a silencer attachment. The case is open for investigation.

Monday evening at 6:25, a female victim in the 900 block of West Center Street stated to a Paris Officer that her ex-boyfriend had attempted to strangle her, and the strangulation attempt lasted approximately two minutes. Officers noticed visible bruising on her neck consistent with strangulation. Afterward, Damian Glen Hood, 18, returned to recover his personal property and was placed under arrest for Felony Assault Family/House Member Impeding Breath/Circulation and booked into the Paris Jail. 

Paris Police Department responded to 67 Calls for Service, arrested two adults, and Initiated 11 Traffic Stops.
