Paris Police Report For Wednesday (Jun 2)

Paris Police arrested Kelley Lynn Berry, 38, of Paris, at her residence on a felony probation violation warrant about a charge of credit or debit card abuse. Officers took her to the Lamar County Jail.

Paris Police responded to three burglaries of businesses that occurred sometime over the weekend. Someone burglarized two Insurance and one finance office, taking money from all three firms. It is unknown if the three burglaries are related. The incidents are under investigation.

Paris Police responded to a single-vehicle accident in the 1600-block of NE 34th Tuesday afternoon at 9:32. The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle had walked away from the scene before the officer’s arrival. Officers located the owner/driver at his residence and conducted a welfare check on him. During the investigation, the owner/driver brandished a firearm which resulted in an officer-involved shooting. The suspect was provided first aid at the scene by officers and emergency medical responders and transported by Care-Flight to a Dallas area hospital. Following Paris Police Department Policy, the Texas Rangers receive all officer-involved shooting investigations. In addition, per the Paris Police standard operating procedures, the officer involved will be placed on administrative paid leave pending the study’s outcome. The investigation is ongoing, and no additional information is currently available.
