Jerry’s Bar & Grill Crawfish & Shrimp Boil on Friday (Jul 14) was a huge success. We will be doing more things soon. We are in downtown Pittsburg, 120 Jefferson St. Be sure to check it out.
The Pioneer Peach Queen contest is in full swing with five area young ladies vying for the honor to claim the title of Pioneer Peach Queen for 2017. Each contestant is currently selling tickets to the Queen’s Pageant, which is Wednesday (Sep 13). It is in the newly renovated Pittsburg High School Auditorium. They are also selling tickets to the Leaders Luncheon held on Thursday (Sep 14) at noon at First Baptist Family Life Center. There are also tickets for the pit Bar-b-Que Cook-off held on Saturday (Sep 16) on Rusk Street. The contestant who raises the most money from the ticket sales, fund raisers and donations to her candidacy, determines the Queen. The winner will receive a scholarship and reign over this years’ Pioneer Days festival. The Camp County/Pittsburg Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the event. The money raised goes back into making the festival bigger and better every year.
Verizon in Pittsburg is planning an appreciation luncheon for all our Pittsburg First Responders on Friday (Aug 11) and would like to reach out to all chamber members and small businesses. We need to raise about $800.00 to accomplish this task. I am asking for donations from everyone, and no donation is too small. My number is 903-855-0092, and this is Queenie. Your gift, no matter how small, will be publicized on our event flyer and our Facebook and website and much appreciated.
