CASA of Titus, Camp and Morris Counties decorated Camp County Courthouse in honor of Child Abuse Prevention Awareness Month in April. Blue bows adorn the courthouse pillars, and 156 blue pinwheels were placed to represent the 156 children in foster care that were served last year by CASA Volunteers. Inside, a heart of 156 small hands is displayed that further illustrates the need to recommit ourselves to end the vicious cycle of abuse and to stand up for every child too young to speak for themselves.
April is National Volunteer Week. Last year, roughly less than half of the children in the child welfare system did not have a CASA Volunteer to advocate for their best interests. Be that someone for a child in foster care. Consider becoming a CASA Volunteer and take that first step in helping to break the cycle of child abuse and neglect.
