Sumner Man Found Guilty of Assaulting Wife

A Sumner man has been convicted in Lamar County of assaulting his wife with his boots and sending her threatening letters from his jail cell. The assault charge was enhanced because of a prior conviction. Joshua Mitchell will be sentenced today by Judge Wes Tidwell. The victim and Mitchell are now divorced.
