Suspect Dead After East Texas Standoff

Henderson County dispatchers received a 911 call Wednesday morning from a man who said he had been shot by his neighbor and was going to the hospital for a minor wound. Henderson and Kaufman County deputies as well as a DPS SWAT team responded to the location and began negotiations with the suspect. At one point, the suspect fired at officers who returned fire. The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene.
