Traffic Stop Leads to Sumner Man’s Arrest in Hopkins County

A Lamar County man has been arrested after he was stopped for speeding by a State Trooper in Sulphur Springs. A search of the vehicle driven by 33 year old Justin Pendergraft of Sumner turned up a small quantity of methamphetamine and a handgun.  Pendergraft was charged with possession of a controlled substance and being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.  His bond was set at $25,000 and he remains in the Hopkins County jail.
