UAW Workers Strike At Arlington Plant

The United Auto Workers Union confirmed Tuesday that its chapter in Arlington has shut down General Motors’ largest plant. Local 276 president Keith Crowell said G.M.’s Arlington plant employs around 5,000 people and is responsible for 35% of the company’s profits. UAW began striking against GM, Stellantis, and Ford over a month ago, demanding better pay, a shorter work week, and pensions for new hires.
