Vandalism, Copper Theft Leads To Wood County Power Outages

The large two pieces of equipment on the trailer are regulators that are replacements for the ones destroyed. Work crews need to install them, and everything checked before they can try to bring everything back up. But, as you can see, they are hard at it.

Wood County Electric Co-op reports they are experiencing a massive outage in the Alba area and Lake Fork’s west side because of damage caused to a substation from copper theft. The vandalism caused damage to a regulator in addition to theft of ground wires. More than 2,100 customers lost power for several hours because of the incident.
