A wanted man was shot late Monday night by a Lufkin Police Officer after he allegedly tried to take the officer’s gun. Paramedics hospitalized 26-year-old Todd Sturgis in undisclosed condition and he is expected to survive. The officer involved was not injured. Sturgis had been arrested previously on warrants from Tarrant County for kidnapping, evading arrest and delivery of a controlled substance. Texas Rangers are investigating the shooting.
