Woman Charged With Insurance Fraud After Claiming She Was Served Raw Hamburgers at Sonic

A former Lieutenant with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice is accused of participating in a scheme in which she claimed she was served raw hamburger at two different fast food restaurant locations. Cassandra Brooks is charged with insurance fraud. She was awarded more than $10,000 after claiming she was served raw beef at a Sonic in Louisiana and making a similar claim a month later in the Houston area.
