Paris – It took every second in all four quarters, but the Paris Wildcats advance past the Alvarado Indians 14-10. The defense held up all night, but it was the offense that caught fire in the forth quarter, sparked by a spectacular one handed catch and run by Jalon Pipkins from 48-yards out [AUDIO]. Pipkins and the Wildcats take on the 8th ranked Van Vandals on Friday at Allen’s Eagle Stadium. Kick off on 101.9 KBUS is set for 1pm.

Mount Pleasant – It didn’t take long for the route to be on Friday night, as the Gilmer Buckeyes dismantle the Melissa Cardinals 55-6 in the area round of the Texas high school football playoffs in Class 4A Division 2. With the win, this will make the 10th straight year for Gilmer to advance to the third round of the football post season. They’ll take on the Jasper Bulldogs. And in high school hoops the 25th ranked Mt. Pleasant Tigers defeated Terrell 70-52, improving to 2-0 on the season.

Sulphur Springs – A memorable season came to an end this weekend for the Cumby Trojan football team, after falling to Iola 28-6. It was a defensive battle all night long, with Iola clinging to a 7-0 halftime lead, but the Cumby offense was never able to get on track to match the defensive output. The Trojans finish the year with a 9-3 record and a bi-district championship after finishing 1-9 last season. One of the most drastic improvements in the state of Texas. In high school basketball, the Sulphur Springs Lady Cats improve to 3-1 after a win north of the border over Hugo, Oklahoma 51-40.

Yesterday afternoon, the Dallas Cowboys take down Baltimore 27-17 for their franchise record 9th straight win. Quarterback Dak Prescott threw for over 300 yards and three touchdowns to lead the offense. Zeke Elliott had over 125 total yards and Dez Bryant reeled in a pair of touchdown catches. Dallas at 9-1 lead the NFC East. The Giants are close behind at 7-3. The Cowboys take on Washington in their annual thanksgiving day game. Kickoff on Thursday [on 101.9 KBUS] is set for 3:30.

The Dallas Mavericks continue their abysmal start to the season with a 95-87 loss to the Orlando Magic. The Mavs have lost five straight and have the NBA’s worst record at 2-10. It won’t get any easier for the Mavs tonight when they travel to take on rival San Antonio. Tip off this evening is at 7:30.

And rumors went wild that University of Texas football coach, Charlie Strong, would be fired today following the Longhorns 24-21 loss to Kansas. However, Texas Athletic Director, Mike Perrin, released a statement declaring Strong’s performance would be evaluated at the end of the season.
