The Hughes Springs Lady Mustangs continued their winning ways, once again, run-ruling their opponent, this time a 14-2 win over Pilot Point. They will now face New Boston in the Regional final, with another one-game series. The game will be played Thursday night at 7:30 pm at NTCC. It will be broadcast on STAR 969.
In playoff baseball action over the weekend, the Hughes Springs Mustangs’ season came to an end Friday night as they fell to White Oak 9-7.
Union Hill swept their series with Sulphur Bluff with a 12-6, Game 2 win, Friday night. They now advance to the Regional Final. Their opponent will be Slocum.

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Terrance Williams was arrested by Frisco, Texas, police early Saturday morning for public intoxication, a Class C misdemeanor. The police found Williams’ 2017 blue Lamborghini abandoned after hitting a light pole in the area of Frisco Green Avenue and Lebanon Road, not far from the Cowboys’ practice facility, at 4:45 am CT. After determining the vehicle was registered to Williams, the receiver was found near his home riding an electric bicycle and was arrested.
Johnny Manziel will continue his comeback north of the border in the Canadian Football League. Manziel announced Saturday that he has decided to sign his contract with the CFL’s Hamilton Tiger-Cats, who own the Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback’s rights. Hamilton’s preseason opener is June 1.
HOUSTON — Texans defensive end J.J. Watt will pay for the funerals of those killed in the shooting at Santa Fe High School, the team confirmed.
Ten people were killed Friday morning and ten more were wounded when a 17-year-old carrying a shotgun and revolver opened fire at the high school about 30 miles from downtown Houston.
