In a press release, the Electric Reliability Council of Texas says that their electric generation fleet and electric transmission companies are ready for winter after a series of winterization efforts. It comes less than a year after power failed during Winter Storm Uri, resulting in the deaths of more than 150 people. Subsequently, the Texas Legislature increased maximum penalties for violating weatherization rules to $1 million per day per violation.
