Oldest Death Row Inmate Executed

The U.S. Supreme Court denied a stay of execution Thursday afternoon for Texas’ oldest death row inmate. Texas executed 78-year-old Carl Wayne Buntion was then put to death by lethal injection at 6:39 last night. Texas had condemned him for killing Houston Police Officer James Irby during a traffic stop in 1990.
