Governor Abbott Names New Secretary Of State

Texas Senator Jane Nelson

Governor Abbott has appointed state Senator Jane Nelson to become the new Texas Secretary of State, just a day after current Secretary of State John Scott announced he’s stepping down. Scott will officially resign on December 31, with Nelson taking over in the new year.
