A Stockton family of three was flying from Phoenix to Dover Air Force base to pick up the remains of their son, John Perry. An improvised explosive device killed Sgt. John Perry in Afghanistan. The captain asked the passengers to stay seat so a “special military family” could exit the plane first to make a connecting flight. Mr. Perry said several passengers in first class booed the family and complained about having to wait to leave the aircraft.
