Athens Woman Arrested

An eight-member team from the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office raided the home of Veronica Wortman, 49, Wednesday. They found “a substantial amount of methamphetamine” being processed and packaged for sale, according to Sheriff Botie Hillhouse. They charged Wortman, of Athens, with a first-degree felony for the manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance.
