Two In Galveston County Asked To Resign After $500 k Scam

The Galveston County judge says two officials should resign for failing to protect the county from an electronic payment scam that totaled more than half a million dollars. A scammer impersonating a Houston contractor scheduled to repair roads emailed a bill for $525,000, which was paid by the county. The county auditor and purchasing agent said they have no plans to resign.
