Abbott Issues New Executive Order

Governor Abbott is using his pen to block state and local governments from requiring coronavirus vaccines for employees. The Governor signed an executive order and said he wants the legislature to tackle the matter during the upcoming special session. Rice University Political Science Professor Mark Jones calls it a winning move for the Governor. Jones thinks the all-Republican Texas Supreme Court will uphold the Governor’s executive orders on vaccine requirements and the mask mandate ban.
