Governor Greg Abbott, surrounded by dozens of state lawmakers, went on Facebook live Wednesday morning to officially make abortions illegal in Texas if you detect a fetal heartbeat. The law also includes civil penalties for abortion doctors and those who assist in abortions. Opponents say they’ll fight the new law in court. The ACLU said in a statement abortion is legal, and the Governor can’t change the constitution.
