UT Dallas Picked to Threepeat at Men’s Cross Country Champions
2020-21 ASC Men’s Cross Country Schedule
RICHARDSON, Texas – UT Dallas was selected to win the 2020-21 American Southwest Conference Men’s Cross Country Championship in a vote of the league’s head coaches, the conference office announced Thursday (January 21).
The Comets received 105 points and five out of 11 first-place votes in the poll after winning their second straight title in 2019.
Hardin-Simmons was second with 97 points and two first-place votes after a runner-up finish. LeTourneau was just behind the Cowboys, with 81 points and a first-place vote, and McMurry, also with 81 points.
Rounding out the poll were East Texas Baptist (70/1); Ozarks (70/1), Concordia Texas (58); Belhaven (55/1); Mary Hardin-Baylor (55); Sul Ross State (31); and Louisiana College (21).
Nine runners are among those to watch in the 2020-21 season. Nominated by the head coaches, the watch list includes three who earned All-Conference honors, including the 2018 individualist medalist – senior Mack Broussard from East Texas Baptist.
Regular season races will begin Saturday, January 23. The ASC Cross Country Championship is scheduled for February 20, hosted by Concordia Texas at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock.

Cowgirls Picked to Repeat as Women’s Cross Country Champions

RICHARDSON, Texas – Hardin-Simmons was selected to win the 2020-21 American Southwest Conference Women’s Cross Country Championship in a vote of the league’s head coaches, the conference office announced Wednesday (January 19).
The Cowgirls received 102 points and three out of 11 first-place votes in the poll after winning their second ASC Championship in a row in 2019 and third overall.
Second in the poll was 2019 runner-up UT Dallas with 93 points and three first-place votes. McMurry followed them with 91 points and a first place and Mary Hardin-Baylor, who had 83 points and two first-place votes. The War Hawks and Cru tied for third in 2019.
Rounding out the poll were East Texas Baptist (81/1); Concordia Texas (80); LeTourneau (72); Ozarks (44); Belhaven (42/1); Louisiana College (37); and Sul Ross State (21).
Eight runners are among those to watch in the 2020-21 season. Nominated by the head coaches, the watch list includes three who earned All-Conference honors.
The spring races start on Saturday, January 23. The ASC Cross Country Championship is scheduled for February 20 and will be hosted by Concordia Texas in Round Rock at Old Settlers Park.
