Robert Gene McGill Titus County arrested 48-year-old Robert Gene McGill of Daingerfield on two warrants for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by Felon and Criminal Trespass. His bonds total $101,502, and he remains in jail.

A Hunt County jury has found Carl Allen Welch of Quinlan not guilty of the murder of Terry Cale of Wills Point in 2014. COVID-19 pandemic delayed the mistrial in 2019. The Greenville Herald-Banner reports the jury found that Welch was acting in self-defense.

Sulphur Springs ISD School Board met in a special meeting Tuesday at noon and approved the 2022-2023 Compensation Plan. As a result, all district employees will receive a pay increase. The school will post the details on the district website soon.
