  A Paris home in the 1800 block of West Houston was destroyed by fire just before 5:00 am Sunday morning. It took firefighters about three hours to extinguish the blaze. The fire is believed to have started in the kitchen. Nobody was hurt.

Commerce Man Sentenced For Injury to a Child

  Lamar County District Court sentenced Kody Potts, 30, of Commerce, after he pleaded guilty to injuring a child on Christmas of 2015. Potts received 21 months in state jail. Reno Police arrested him after paramedics took a then 18-month-old boy to Paris Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.

  Paris Police worked a call in the 3900 block of Alpine regarding an outstanding warrant for 55-year-old Mark Calloway. They arrested him for manufacturing or delivering a controlled substance. Since he was in possession of methamphetamine and marijuana, police charged him with those offenses.
