State Softball Tourney Plus Rangers Take on Astros Tonight

 

State champions are being crowned in Texas High School Softball.  The Bells Lady Panthers dig down deep to score five 7th inning runs to win the class 2A crown over Shiner, 7-6. Little River Academy wins the 3A title, beating Santa Gertrudis, 5-3.  Today at 11am, Dodd City plays in the Class 1A Semi-Final against Hermleigh.  Bartlett is up against Slocum at 2.  In the 5A Semi-Finals Canyon plays Lewisville The Colony at 9am and Willis faces Dripping Springs at noon.  In 6A, Deer Park plays Keller at 3pm while Austin Bowie meets Northside Brennen in the night cap game at 6.  Tomorrow features the Class A State championship game at 9am.  The Class 4A title game has Krum playing Liberty Hill at noon on Saturday.  Followed by the Class 5A championship at 3 and the Class 6A crown is on the line at 6.
The Texas Rangers will turn to Yu Darvish tonight as they look to cool off Dallas Keuchel and the Houston Astros.  The Rangers designated Sam Dyson for assignment while bringing back relief pitcher Jose Leclerc from the DL to fill the roster spot.  First pitch tonight [on kplt 1490am and 96.3fm] is set for 7:05.
Last night the Golden State Warriors throttle the Cleveland Cavaliers, 113-90 to take on a 1-0 lead in the NBA Finals.  Kevin Durant exploded for 38 points, eight rebounds and eight assists. LeBron James finished with 28 points, 15 rebounds and eight assists in the loss.  Game two between Cleveland and Golden State is Sunday at 8pm.
And after the first round of play at The Memorial, Jason Dufner and David Lingmerth share the lead after shooting 65.  Jordan Spieth sits one stroke off the lead at 66 going into round 2.
