The Lamar County Commissioners Court will consider a 10 year, 100 % tax abatement for Turner Industries when it meets this morning. If approved, the abatement would  be in effect until December 31, 2025.  Turner is a Texas owned company and is the largest pipe factory in the country.

  Fire officials say a house fire in the 1900 block of East Cherry was accidental, and appears to have started in the kitchen. Everyone living at the home got out safely and there were no injuries. The amount of damage to the home has not been determined.
