Basketball Bi-Dirstric Begins Tonight Plus Renegades Pick Up First Win In Today’s Sports Update

The Prairiland Lady Patriots will take on New Boston at 8:00 pm. That game will be played in Pittsburg.

The Paris Lady Cats will take on Gilmer in Sulphur Springs. That game’s tipoff is at 6:00 pm.

And North Lamar will play Bullard at 6:30 pm. That game will be in Bullard.

In other high school sports the North Lamar Pantherette softball team travels to Bells this afternoon. The first pitch is at 2:00 pm.

Prairiland will host Tom Bean at 5:00 pm this afternoon in softball.

It took almost seven and a half quarters for the Dallas Renegades to score a touchdown in their inaugural season. When they finally broke through, though, the flood gates opened. Dallas scores three touchdowns in the final nine minutes of the game to defeat the LA Wildcats 25-18. It was the first win in franchise history for the Renegades who are now 1-1 on the season.

And the NBA All-Star game went team LeBron last night 157-155. Kawhi Leonard was named the Kobe Bryant All-Star MVP. He joins Michael Jordan as the only two players ever to win Defensive Player of the Year, Finals MVP, and All-Star MVP. Luka Doncic finished with 8 points in 18 minutes for Team LeBron.

And the Daytona 500 wasn’t able to run due to weather. They will try again this afternoon

In front of an electric home country crowd inside AT&T Stadium, Team USA Eagles became the first team in the history of the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Global Cup. They won the 2020 WinStar World Casino and Resort PBR Global Cup USA, presented by Monster Energy.

A&M-Commerce 83 – Cameron University 78

The No. 3 Texas A&M University-Commerce women’s basketball team fought off a cold start to earn an 83-78 win over Cameron University in Aggie Gym on Saturday afternoon. A&M-Commerce returns home next week for the final two regular-season home games. The Play4Kay game is next up with Eastern New Mexico visiting the Field House for a 5:30 pm tipoff on Thursday, February 20.

Cameron University 67 – A&M-Commerce 66

The Texas A&M University-Commerce men’s basketball battled back from a second-half deficit but saw two shots on the final possession go missing in a tuff 67-66 loss at Cameron University in Aggie Gym on Saturday afternoon. A&M-Commerce returns home next week for the final two regular-season home games. Next on the docket is Eastern New Mexico at 7:30 pm on Thursday, February 20.

The Texas A&M University-Commerce track and field squads closed out the regular indoor season Saturday at the Fifth Annual Indoor Gorilla Classic, hosted by Pittsburg State University. Four student-athletes set or improved on Lone Star Conference-best marks, with one automatic qualification and school record, and three provisional qualifying improvements.
