Oklahoma Man Who Claimed Self-Defense Executed

Oklahoma executed 59-year-old Philip Hancock Thursday morning in McAlister. Oklahoma had condemned Hancock for killing two men in Oklahoma City in 2001. Hancock maintained that he acted in self-defense. The Oklahoma Pardon and Parole Board recommended clemency, but Governor Kevin Stitt refused to commute his sentence.

McCurtain County Body Found After Fire

A search for a missing person led McCurtain County Deputies to a home east of Broken Bow. Officers obtained and executed a search warrant and found what they described as “charred human remains.” Officers arrested the property owner, Marvin Bray, on several pending investigation charges.
