Charges have been upgraded to Capital Murder for the man arrested for shooting two Dallas PD officers and a loss prevention officer at the Home Depot in Northeast Dallas. Officer Rogelio Santander, 27, died of his injuries Wednesday morning. Officer Crystal Almeida, 29, and security officer Scott Painter remain in critical condition but are improving. Bond has been set at $1 million for the suspect, 29-year-old Armando Luis Juarez.
Dallas Police officer Rogelio Santander, Jr., 27, who died Wednesday after he was shot at a Home Depot had ties to Northeast Texas. He was a graduate of Texas A&M-Commerce where he studied Criminal Justice. He interned with the Commerce PD before joining the department in Dallas. His father, Rogelio Santander, Sr., owns a trucking company based in Commerce.
