Defense Witnesses Take Stand In NE Texas Capital Murder Punishment Trial

THe defense is putting on witnesses in a New Boston courtroom in the punishment phase of the Capital Murder trial of Telford Unit prison inmate Billy Joel Tracy. He was convicted in the fatal beating of guard Timothy Davison of Simms. Tracy is represented by attorney Mac Cobb of Mt. Pleasant and Jeff Harrelson.  Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty.  This phase of the trial is expected to last into next week.
