Demands On Electricity

ERCOT, the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, asked Texans to conserve electricity from 4:00 to 9:00 Sunday afternoon. There was a concern that the grid would reach high demands because of the extreme heat. Saturday, ERCOT avoided emergency operations due to the conservation efforts made by Texans, combined with wind improvements and additional grid reliability tools.
