The Brooklyn Nets are acquiring James Harden from the Houston Rockets In a blockbuster deal. As part of the agreement, Houston is getting Victor Oladipo from the Indiana Pacers. It reunites Harden with former Oklahoma City teammate Kevin Durant. Durant’s trio, Harden and Kyrie Irving, seem to be the favorites to come out of the Eastern Conference.

The league announced the postponement of two NBA games scheduled for Friday due to health and safety protocols. Nine contests this season have now been postponed. They pushed back the Washington Wizards-Detroit Pistons matchup and the Golden State Warriors-Phoenix Suns contest. Neither the Suns nor Wizards will have the league-required eight available players because of ongoing contact tracing.

The Houston Astros and reliever Pedro Baez agreed to a two-year contract, pending a physical. The pact, which includes an option, escalators, and a buyout, is expected to be worth $12 million to $14 million in guarantees for the former Dodger reliever.
