Paris – Monday night the AAA Paris All-Stars won a pitchers dual over Sulphur Springs 2-1. Paris finished the game by getting out of bases loaded jam to clinch the Dixie District Title.

Mount Pleasant – The East Texas Junior Golf Tour is in its forth week of competition. A tour newcomer, Rustyn Goolsby of Mt. Pleasant, shot a 68 to win the round and put himself in the top 10 in points. Kade Strickland of Daingerfield won his second consecutive tour event in the 11 and under division. Tristan Davis and Hogan Spearman of Pittsburg finished 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Sulphur Springs – The Sulphur Springs Wildcat football team is on the cusp of completing their fund raising for their trip to Orlando, Florida, where they’ll take on Seminole Ridge in week 2 of the upcoming season. Players, who need to raise around $1,200 each for the trip, have starting raising money this summer through helping locals with yard care called Wildcat Lawn, as well as various projects and odd jobs.

Last night the Texas Rangers pull away late to down the Yankees 7-1. Adrian Beltre put the winning runs on the board in the first inning with a 2-run homer. Cole Hamels picked up the win on the hill and is now 9-1 on the season with a 2.60 ERA. The Rangers are now 51-27 on the season with a 10 game lead on the Houston Astros in the AL West. Texas and New York play game 3 of 4 tonight in the Bronx. First pitch this evening [on kplt 1490am and 96.3fm] is scheduled for 6:05pm Central Time.

The College World Series will head to a decisive game three after Coastal Carolina beat Arizona yesterday 5-4, evening the series at one game apiece. Coastal Carolina RBI leader G. K. Young drove in a pair of runs to lead the offense. Game three will be tonight and the winner will be crowned champion. First pitch this evening is set for 7pm.

And Wimbledon continues on today. The world’s 2nd ranked player Andy Murray took down Liam Broady in three straight sets. 4th ranked Stan Wawrinka defeated Taylor Fritz in four sets. This morning top ranked Novak Djokovic will face off against Adrian Mannarino. Number three Rodger Federer is up against Marcus Willis. And Steve Johnson will take on Jeremy Chardy.
