Former Durant Police Officer Guilty Of Embezzlement

A former Durant Police Officer, arrested in April of last year for embezzlement, reached a plea agreement. Court documents show that Durant Police Department Lieutenant  Billy Joe Jones, 48, stole over $65,000 from money seized while he was a narcotics officer. They also accused him of pocketing nearly $40,000 from the local police union. His sentencing is on May 29.
