Girls Basketball Playoffs Set Boys Wind Down District Games

Paris – In high school hoops tonight the Paris Wildcats host Liberty Eylau at Wildcat Gym. The game will air on 101.9 KBUS. North Lamar welcomes Pleasant Grove to Panther gym. Catch the game live on MIX 107.7. And the Chisum Mustangs travel to take on Mt. Vernon. All games begin at 7:30. The bi-district round of the girls basketball playoffs begin next week. On Monday the North Lamar Pantherette’s are up against Brownsboro at 6pm at Royse City. The game will be carried on MIX 107.7. In class 3A, Prairiland plays Queen City at 6 at Mt. Vernon. And in Class 2A, Honey Grove plays North Hopkins on Monday at 6 at Commerce. Clarksville plays Carlisle Monday at 7 in Gladewater. And on Tuesday Rivercrest takes on Hawkins at Mt. Vernon with tip off at 7:45.

Mount Pleasant – Girls high school basketball playoffs tip off next week with the Bi-District round. The Mt. Pleasant Lady Tigers play Lucas Lovejoy Monday night at Emory Rains High school. The game will be carried live on KLAKE 97.7. Tip off is at 7pm. The Mt. Vernon Lady Tigers take on Hughes Springs on Monday at Daingerfield High school. That game will be on Star 96.9, tipping off at 6:30. And the Chapel Hill Lady Devils are up against New Boston. The two teams will meet at Rivercrest at 6:30 on Monday. The boys will be looking to wrap up district before heading to the post season. Mt. Vernon welcomes the Chisum Mustangs. With a win, the Purple Tigers would clinch at least a share of the district 13-3A title with Chapel Hill. The Red Devils host Como-Pickton. Both games tip off at 7:30. The Daingerfield Tigers host New Boston this evening at 7.

Sulphur Springs – Girls high school basketball playoffs tip off next week with the Bi-District round. District Champion, Sulphur Springs, will be at Rockwall Heath to take on North Forney high school. The game will be played Monday night with tip off at 7:30. The 13-3A champion Mt. Vernon Lady Tigers take on Hughes Springs on Monday at Daingerfield High school. That game will be on Star 96.9, tipping off at 6:30. And in Class 2A, North Hopkins plays Honey Grove on Monday at 6 at Commerce. Boys hoops continues district play this evening. It’s senior night at Sulphur Springs as the Wildcats welcome in the Greenville Lions to Wildcat Gym. Mt. Vernon will host the Chisum Mustangs. With a win, the Purple Tigers would clinch at least a share of the district 13-3A title with Chapel Hill. Both games tip off tonight at 7:30.

Last night the Dallas Mavericks win a huge game over Utah 112-105 in overtime. Harrison Barnes dropped in 31 points for the Mavs, who are now 21-32 on the season. Two and a half games out of a playoff spot in the West.

The Dallas Stars drop their forth straight game, losing to Ottawa 3-2. Antoine Roussel and Jamie Benn had the goals for The Stars, who have been stuck on 52 points on the season for 10 days.

And in one of the greatest rivalries in all of sports, the Duke Blue Devils take down the North Carolina Tar Heels 86-78. Grayson Allen lead Duke with 25 points. Jayson Tatum had 19 with nine rebounds. Justin Jackson had 21 for UNC.
