Voter turnout was described as good in the Tuesday primary election in Texas. In Lamar County, Brandon Bell won the GOP nomination for County Judge and will face incumbent Democrat Chuck Superville in the November General Election. In other Republican contests, there will be a run-off between Kevin Anderson and Tracy Crawford for Commissioner of Pct 4. For JP of Pct 1 it was James Mazy with 65%; for JP of Pct 2 – the winner was Crystal Duke with 59% of the vote and for JP of Pct 4 it was Jimmy Steed with 69% of the vote. There were no contested local Democrat candidates.
