Protest Against Confederate Monument At Lamar County Courthouse

The Paris News reports that there is a movement afoot in Paris to remove the monument at the courthouse honoring the Confederacy. Several protesters demonstrated against the memorial this week and said it was time for removal of the monument from the courthouse grounds. Some said they would petition the commissioners to take down the memorial. Organizers are hoping for a massive protest next week against the monument.
