The LeTourneau University women’s golf team is in fifth place after Monday’s opening round of the 2016 ASC Women’s Golf Championships at the Oakmont Country Club in Corinth.
The YellowJackets posted an opening round 348 which is the third-lowest opening round on the season for LETU. Tied for 13th after posting an 82 is Freshman Kristin Boone. That is her second lowest round of the season. UT Tyler is the first round leader after posting a 297, and the Patriots are led by co-leaders, Morgan Loth, and Taylor Denton, who both posted a 72.
Senior Sydney Cash is 19th after posting an 84 for her lowest round of the season, followed by sophomore Melanie Pedigo, who shot a 90. In her round, Cash had ten pars. Junior Alisa Wilson and freshman Faith Williams shot a 92 (26th) and 93 (tied for 27th), respectively.
Tuesday’s final round will get underway at 9 a.m.
