Luminant Retiring Monticello Power Plant

Luminant announced Friday that it would shut down the Monticello Power Plant in Titus County in January. The plant’s 1800 megawatts of power will be taken offline. Approximately 200 employees will be affected by the plant’s closure. Eligible and affected employees will be offered severance benefits and outplacement assistance. Employees who are interested in pursuing open positions within its fleet will also receive assistance.
