MPHS Tiger Powerlifters qualify for Regionals

After six meets, the Mount Pleasant High School Tiger Powerlifting team has qualified six lifters for the Regional meet. MPHS competes in Region 3 Division 1, encompassing all 5A and 6A high schools in Northeast Texas. A lifter must be in the top 12 in their weight class, reach the automatic total for their weight class, or be one of the top 2 lifters in 5A to qualify for the Regional meet.

Senior Daniel Garcia and junior Hudson Hampton in the 181 weight class are qualified for the Regional meet, junior Ryder Marshall in the 198 weight class, sophomores Devon Burtness and Jose Gonzalez in the 220 weight class, and junior Clayton Miller in the 308 weight class. It will be the 2nd trip to Regionals for Miller.

The Regional Meet is on March 9 at Tyler Legacy High School, and Don Woods and Drew Barnard coach MPHS Powerlifting.
