NTCC Offers Logistics Micro-Credential Training

Northeast Texas Community College is pleased to announce a new Logistics micro-credential training program that begins March 21. The eight-week, nine-credit-hour program provides students with an introduction to the high-demand field of logistics.

Courses included in the program are Introduction to Business Logistics, Introduction to Materials Handling, and Warehouse and Distribution Center Management.

“Our region has many manufacturing and distribution companies that rely on logistics to operate. This is a great opportunity for those who may be in entry-level positions who would like to move up or others who would like to expand their knowledge of how logistics keeps industry moving,” Jimmy Smith, NTCC Workforce Developer, said.

Thanks to the Texas Reskilling and Upskilling through Education (TRUE) Initiative, this program is available. It aims to prepare students for in-demand careers, accelerating their transition to work and building an enduring education infrastructure to support a thriving Texas economy throughout the state’s diverse regions.

The TRUE Initiative grant will cover many students’ entire cost, and other scholarships may be available.

“This is an exciting opportunity, and funds are available to help students participate, but they must act now because classes begin just after spring break,” Smith said.

For more information, visit www.ntcc.edu/logistics or contact Smith at 903-434-8330 or jsmith@ntcc.edu. To receive financial aid, students must also complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.studentaid.gov.
