Press Release From Mt. Pleasant PD
The Mount Pleasant Police Department responded to a one vehicle crash in the 2800 block of South Jefferson.
The driver, Kyle Williams Senior, 38, Pittsburg, TX., suffered serious non-life threatening injuries. The other occupants of the vehicle were Stephanie Brooks (28), Marcos Rosales (10), Kyle Williams Jr (9), Marcela Rosales (8), Zion Williams (7), Tyrell Williams (6) and Malia Williams (2). Marcos Rosales later died from injuries received in the crash.
Kyle Williams Sr. was driving a 2005 Ford Explorer southbound on South Jefferson when he lost control of the vehicle. The injured were transported to four hospitals by helicopter and ambulance suffering from minor injuries to serious injuries.
The Mount Pleasant Police Department continues to investigate the cause of the accident. Other agencies at the scene were Mount Pleasant Fire Department, Texas Department of Public Safety, Titus Regional Medic Units, East Texas Medical Medic Units and the Texas Department of Transportation.
