Paris Council To Increase Water, Sewage Rate

The Paris City Council approved water and sewage rate increases at this week’s meeting. The slight increase will be because of a decrease in residential consumption. The council voted unanimously to deny a special use permit to a proposed convenience store and fuel station in the 300 block of West Main Street. Several people addressed the council about the permit because of high traffic concerns and the possible sale of alcohol across the street from a church.
